Abstract

Les 1100 cartes postales anciennes mises en ligne illustrent des thèmes variés : portraits de femmes célèbres, mode, caricature, métiers féminins traditionnels ou au contraire rarement exercés par les femmes, comme les femmes cochers, maçons, mineurs, ou les ouvrières des usines d'armement en 1914-1918. De nombreuses cartes postales sont relatives au féminisme, en particulier au vote des femmes, les associations militant pour cette cause ayant beaucoup utilisé ce support très populaire pour diffuser leurs revendications, souvent avec humour.
