Abstract
Website:
Audience:
This is a thematic virtual museum which exhibits byzantine icons dealing exclusively with the subject of “The Annunciation”. By studying the metaphors of a typical visit in a real-world museum, this virtual representation proposes several multi-level scenarios for the visitor to get acquainted to the subject of the annunciation, as it is developed and presented through byzantine iconography. The digitized material comes from a variety of geographical regions, without any discrimination on schools, techniques etc. The museum aims at helping the visitor to get an in-depth experience into the meaning of the annunciation, through the centuries and cultures.
