Die Sammlung beinhaltet Aufnahmen aus dem süddeutschen Raum zu Maskenlaüfen anlässlich des Faschingsfestes bzw. der Fastnacht. Die Fotografien sind Bestandteil der Fotosammlung Groth-Schmachtenberger. Diese befindet sich seit 1986 im Besitz der UB Augsburg.
