Abstract

Die Bildersammlung des Hessischen Staatsarchivs Darmstadt umfasst insbesondere Porträts und Ansichten von Personen und Orten aus dem südhessischen Raum, darunter Stiche, Lithographien, Postkarten, einzelne Daguerrotypien und vor allem Fotos. Die Sammlung gliedert sich in eine topographische Reihe nach Ortsalphabet, inhaltlich unterteilt nach Einzelansichten. Eine weitere Reihe bildet die nach dem Namensalphabet geordnete Porträtsammlung, die Gruppenaufnahmen mit Einzelverweisen mehrfach erfasst. Bilddokumente, etwa Ereignisfotos, die für die Landgrafschaft Hessen-Darmstadt bzw. das Großherzogtum/ den Volksstaat und schließlich das Bundesland Hessen von Bedeutung sind, sowie Bilddokumente zur Geschichte von Militär, Polizei, Verbänden/Vereinen, Wirtschaft, Brauchtum, einzelnen Bevölkerungsgruppen et cetera sind in der sachthematischen Reihe zusammengefasst.
