An elaborately illuminated manuscript dated to the beginning of the 15th century, the document is considered one of the most precious medieval codices in our lands. It is a compilation of legal precepts submitted to the Supreme Appellate Mining Court in Jihlava. Johann von Gelnhaus, a highly educated lawyer and municipal scribe, transcribed in it all the privileges ever granted to the town by various rulers, complementing his work by miniature drawings of the likenesses of kings and margraves and their initials, including the oldest version of the town's insignia.
