In the context of the collections of the Gallery of Visual Art in Cheb, the collection of Middle European painting is not so far numerous, however, its systematic extension is one of the long-term special tasks. From the more important acquisitions that we lately succeeded to acquire and that will significantly enrich the collection it is necessary to mention for instance The Still Life with Birds by Jan Vojtěch Angermeyer (1674 - 1740), dated by 1702 or the painting Repenting Mary Magdalena by Peter Brandl (1668 - 1735) that is the author's replica of the same-named altar painting from the St. Wenceslas church in Mníšek pod Brdy.
